A Child-centered, child-directed, soundly traditional method of introducing children to the mystery of God

What is CGS?

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is an approach to the religious formation of children, endorsed and supported by the Diocese of Boise. Originated over 65 years ago, the catechesis holds that God and the child are already in relationship – he or she simply needs time to nurture the friendship and assistance to grow in the knowledge of God.   CGS deals with the vital religious needs of the child and is faithful to the essentials of Christian tradition based on the Bible and Liturgy.

CGS at St. Alphonsus

 is open to:

Children 3-5 years of age (Level I)
